The 974 from AT&T is a four-line corded telephone with powerful features and reliable operation. Caller ID/call waiting compatibility and multi-user expandability to 16 stations (compatible with AT&T models 945 and 984 along with other 974 models) provide you with plenty of options.
Four-line operation, intercom function, and conference calling help you easily manage call flow from several clients, colleagues, and customers at once. For the busy office environment, a built-in speakerphone and headset compatibility allow you to comfortably communicate hands-free.
The 200-name-and-number phone directory helps you keep track of your important contacts, and a 32-number speed dial lets you quickly dial the most frequently used numbers. Two hundred caller ID locations are also provided, and incoming call information and most setup features are easily viewable on the built-in LCD.
A new-message indicator provides a visual alert to any new voicemail messages, while the redial feature lets you easily dial any of the last six outgoing numbers. Two data ports are integrated into the 947, allowing you to hook up peripherals, such as a fax machine or modem, with ease. You can install the 947 on any desktop, or mount it on the wall to free up space. The unit also comes backed with a one-year limited warranty.

A multi-line corded phone that works., By This review is from: AT&T 974 Small Business System Speakerphone with Intercom and Caller ID/Call Waiting (Titanium Blue) (Office Product) I've been looking for a multi-line corded phone for months, and thought I'd found what I wanted in the AT&T 992, which recently became available. It had all the features I was looking for, but the phone did not work reliably. I bought and returned three of them, all with a different problem.I then decided to try this phone, the 974, even though it's a 4-line phone and I only need two lines. It has worked perfectly, and the overall quality is much better than the 992. I especially notice a difference in the sound quality. Unlike the 992, the line indicator buttons on this phone only illuminate when a line is in use, so it's much easier to see the activity on the lines. A big advantage of this phone over many others is that all the lines work in the event of a power outage. So far using this phone, I have no complaints, just a very minor gripe- if you talk too close to the mic in the handset it causes an annoying static type sound in the earpiece (wind blast noise). This is easily avoidable by talking at least 1 inch from the mic. Still, maybe noise reduction might have prevented this, not sure. I had been planning on exchanging the phone on my desk with a coworkers since I use the speakerphone on a daily basis. My investors were out this week and were on a conference call on another of the phones, that microphone stopped working. Today I had a phone interview and the THIRD phone microphone stopped working! They work for 15 or 20 seconds, then the party on the other end can't hear you. These are gone. I was also hoping for a visual indicator that there were messages waiting when you use Verizon Centrex/voicemail. No go there. |
