The clips on the bottom part snapped right off the first week I had the case. Therefore, I need to cradle the laptop from the bottom or else the bottom cover will slide right off. Then the top piece has material peeling off on every side. The cool design is peeling off and I am not rough with my laptop, this is with normal use. The deterioration of the case is quick and shocking coming from a company like Speck. When I asked them if I could exchange the product, they said they will within a year, but it needs to be the same exact one. I told them i don't want this case again because the same thing will happen. They said there can be no exceptions made and I need to take in the same one. If it happens again with the replacement case, I won't be a happy camper. Especially after spending money to ship it back to them. They just kept offering a coupon for a future purchase on their website. Um, no, why should i pay twice for a product that should have... If you're worried about dropping your laptop...nine times out of ten, 1mm of plastic covering isn't going to save it...Beyond the uselessness of this product. It's just poor build quality. The fabric was fraying on the edges within two weeks. Looked like I had a laptop case I found in a dumpster before a month. When I tried to RMA through Speck, they first said that I would have to pay return shipping. Upon complaining, they e-mailed me a return shipping label that apparently had to be used that day or I'd have to get another one. Shortly there after, the warranty replacement broke, and this went on for two more times in total. Finally, I wrote a letter to Speck corporate and included it with my final warranty replacement requesting a different model of case and appealing to a sense of business ethic. If they were to give me a better more rugged version of that case, it would not need replacing. The red version of that case isn't even featured on amazon due to the outrageous number of complaints it received. So, the people at Speck saw the light and shipped me this case instead. It looks and feels glorious! The cloth back is nice, and the pattern is pretty awesome as well. Also, I feel the clips on this case are far more suited for the job and don't seem as though they'll break as easily, but I guess we'll see.
